Serpentia Gemma

This project originated from a prestigious national competition inviting designers to create a jewelry piece on a free theme. I chose to design a snake necklace that redefines the boundaries of traditional Italian goldsmithing. Crafted from 82 articulated links in 18kt white gold, the piece is set with over 2,200 precious gemstones — including white diamonds, blue sapphires, and two vivid red rubies symbolizing the eyes. A fine titanium insert runs within each link, ensuring the necklace gracefully retains its shape while enhancing its fluid design.
